A path that leads to some place different. It is an honor and a privilege to share this weekend with this group of people here at our second annual Reber Rock Retreat. The weekend is not over yet and it has been an inspiration for me thus far:)

Racey and I woke to a relatively unfamiliar sound in the middle of the night this weekend: the sound of heavy rain. We got up and closed a few windows as occasional gusts of wind dampened our window sills.
Last year in May I mentioned in this newsletter than we recorded an album. Many of you have asked about it over the ensuing months, and we are proud to announce that we finally have a final product to share!
We have had just over 2" of rain since the beginning of June. For our farm that is very dry.

This week we welcomed some new faces onto the farm, bring out total pig count to a record breaking 62 animals. I mentioned this winter how we were beginning the process of bringing our pork all the way to Certified Organic, which for us means having the baby piglets here on the farm.
We welcomed a new calf this week. Lovely brown color and full of spunk.
We can always use help:) Lovett helped me pack a few orders on Monday this week. Neither of us were prepared for the cold in our summer clothes. We keep a few spare layers in the barn for this occasion.

Growing up in the city of Boston, I didn't find country radio until I moved to Indiana for college. I remember laughing with friends at the lyrics of songs on our local country radio station. Since my first job working on a farm I now laugh for different reasons. There is a beautiful blend of tragedy and lightheartedness that keeps a farmer going, even when the bad news keeps coming.
We had a wonderful visit from our cousins William and Kora this week. Lovett showed off her ducklings and Kit Kat was not to be left out.
