Why Pasture-Raised Chicken?

• We believe in finding solutions that are a win-win. Our chickens are moved to fresh pasture EVERY Day, they have lots of room to roam and forage in their pasture coops. Daily pasture moves mean our chickens always have clean, fresh pasture to forage in, and our pastures enjoy the burst of fertility the chickens provide and the necessary "rest" period after the chickens move and the rain and sun help the pasture turn the nutrients into more pasture.

• Sunshine, fresh pasture and dirt make the best disease prevention. We believe in cultivating health in our animals, not treating disease. Did you know that "more than 70% of the antibiotics deemed medically important for human health by the FDA sold in the US are used in livestock." Why Organic Matters?

• Growing food takes teamwork. We believe in considering the impact of all the pieces of the puzzle, this means improving the soils on our farm AND the farms that grow the grain we feed our pigs (and chickens!). Not to mention other things like our packaging (cardboard based, recyclable/compostable) and delivery vehicle (go electric:).
• Not only do we cultivate the health of all our animals (including chickens) while they are on our farm, we also believe in supporting and improving the health of the land around us. That is why we feed only Certified Organic Grain, supporting all the organic grain farmers who grow the grain, which feeds our chickens (and pigs too).
