All of us here at the farm have settled into more seasonable weather of cool mornings and sunny afternoons. The chickens are grateful the deluge has abated and our pastures are bursting with vigor. The pigs have been loving life, and this week during chores the pigs had made “shade houses” under some shrubs.

I have shared my journey as I build awareness of the sensations in my body, like what does “pain” feel like and where do I feel it? Then the context, the story and the beliefs behind these sensations began to surface. It’s now been three years since that summer. I remember the process of learning to walk again, the small triumph of making it to the end of the driveway, trips down to the barn and the victory of summiting the hill to the top of my neighbors driveway.
